Fundraising Tips
Do you want to be a HERO? You can! To get involved and help these children in Africa, consider raising money for their schools. The following tips will ensure your HERO fund-raising will be a huge success!

• EDUCATE yourself as much as you can about the HERO Program – its mission statement, countries in which it works, where the money goes and how it is used.

• CREATE your own colorful and educational flyers or postcards. Just create some of these materials on your home computer, and you’ll have something to help advertise your fundraiser and get people interested in HERO.

• REQUEST materials from HERO to help make your fundraiser more successful. Send an email asking what kinds of materials are available, like posters, flyers, brochures or even a video you could play to teach people about why HERO is important.

• TALK to your teachers and the principal at your school if you decide to pursue a fundraiser that will take place during school time or on school premises. Remember that your principal will need to give you permission. Explain to them what HERO is, why you’re interested in the Youth Ambassador Program and how you feel your school coming together to raise funds would make a difference.

REMEMBER to have fun! Fundraising for HERO does more than help children in need. It is a way to be creative, social and interact with family and friends.
