You do have to use a tampon in order to go swimming. Be sure to try insertion when you are actually menstruating. This can make insertion easier?

... we do suggest that it is a good idea to wait to use tampons until you have a regular cycle and understand your flow. Tave a better idea of the correct absorbency for your flow, which is the lowest absorbency necessary for you to change the tampon in 4 to 8 hours...

You do not use a tampon for discharge...only for menstrual fluid when you have your period! Use an Alldays pantiliner if you are having a discharge that makes you uncomfortably damp?
