Does Mother Nature Play Favorites?

You ever think Mother Nature plays favorites – you know like with the popular girls with bouncy hair who never seem to get giant zits, period leaks or double over with cramps in the middle of math class?  How did they get Mother Nature to hand over all the good stuff and none of the junk that goes along with it?

Well, we’re here to tell you those girls aren’t superheroes, immune to Mother Nature’s tricks. Chances are, they get the same inconvenient headaches and misery you do, you just don’t catch ‘em at it. What they are is PREPARED. Arming themselves against whatever Mother Nature tries to throw at them with layers of humor, heating pads, water bottles and BeingGirl articles, they probably get ahead by doing their hardest work in the background, where no one can see them sweat… It’s hard to catch these perfect girls at their backstage prep, but if you could, here’s what you’d probably find:

She never seems to sweat or lose her composure, no matter how nervous or hot she is.

How he does it: She applies underarm wetness protection every day.

You can, too: Head to the deodorant aisle and do some sniffing around for a new signature scent for yourself. Then check the back copy to make sure it gives you exactly what you need – wetness protection, no-clump, invisible, odor protection…

If she has pimples, you can’t see ‘em.

How she does it: She keeps her face and hair clean and when pimples pop up, she doesn’t pick at them. As tempting as it is to poke, probe or pop, she knows they’ll go away much faster without scarring if she keeps her dirty little fingers off ‘em.

You can, too: Don’t pick, of course. And get a good face cleanser and moisturizer. Ask your doctor, dermatologist, mom or older sister to recommend a good cleansing routine for your skin. If breakouts occur, ask your doctor for something to take care of it. Apply a warm, clean washcloth to the area to reduce swelling as soon as a breakout occurs. Then head to the makeup aisle for a cover up that matches your skin tone and doesn’t clog pores. When using cover up, blend, don’t rub it in or cake it on. It should be invisible and minimize your pimple.

Her hair is bouncy and shiny, whatever the weather.

How she does it: She washes her hair every day or every other day, no matter what. Even if she hasn’t been swimming or to the beach or playing hard on the field, her hair is clean. She knows that the oils from her hair get into her skin and cause unnecessary breakouts, too.

You can, too: Choose hair care products made for your hair type, not just by the way they smell!

She never shows signs of period discomfort, PMS, pain, leaks or moodiness.

How she does it: She knows what to expect from her period and when to expect it, and knows what to do when Mother Nature hands over her monthly gift.

You can, too: Eat right, stay active during your period, chart your period to know what to expect and when, drink water throughout the day, use a heating pad or portable Thermacare wrap for cramps, use Tampax Pearl tampons to ensure leak-free protection, and don’t let Mother Nature get the best of you!

everyone's period lasts a different amount of time. some peoples last 3 days and some last longer. mine lasts 8 days. and i kno how you feel. your period probably is really light and it just takes more time for you to get it out of you. i always find that when i excercise during my period more blood comes out faster.

Hey heres an idea always bring pads/tampons to school always just in case. Bring extra clothes just to be on the safe side cause you dont want anyone coming up to you and tellin you that you have something red in the back of your pants. Always take showers {very important} cause you'll stink badly so always do what i have written in this comment.

when i got my period i never found that it showed through my pants part. usually periods are noticable before they go through your pants. i always brang an extra pair of underwear.
