Back to My Period Questions
Dear BeingGirl Experts,
I am 14 years old and just had my first period ever almost 2½ months ago, and haven't had another since. I know it is normal to be a little late, but is this becoming too late? I am not sexually active so I know I can't be pregnant. I haven't told this to my mom yet because I don't want her to be worried. Should I see a doctor or just keep on waiting?
When you first start your period it isn't uncommon to have your first period and then not have one for several months or you may have another one in just a few weeks. You may start out with a regular cycle and then become irregular. Having an unpredictable cycle is not uncommon during your teen years. It may take years for your cycle to become regular.
Hope this helps,
