Where Do You Put A Tampon?
Dear BeingGirl Experts, I was wondering. This might sound weird, but where exactly does a tampon go? Cassie --- Dear Cassie, There is really no need to be afraid of inserting the tampon in the wrong opening. You have three openings at the base of your body. The opening closest to the front of your body is your urethra, and is where urine leaves your body. This opening is too small to accommodate a tampon. It would be extremely uncomfortable/painful to attempt to insert it there. The opening furthest to the back is your anus. This is way to far back to be considered the correct opening. The vagina is the middle opening, and sits right behind your urethra. It is a flexible tube with an opening that will easily accommodate the tampon. Have you tried looking at yourself with a hand mirror? Sometimes seeing where your openings are relieves the anxiety of placing the tampon in the wrong space. You need to be RELAXED when inserting a tampon or you'll find your task doubly difficult. Try using Tampax Pearl Lites tampons for the first time. http://www.beinggirl.com/my-period/period-protection/teen-barrier/your-first-tampon is a link to information on Tampax Pearls you should check out.
