Dear BeingGirl Experts,

I have a boyfriend that I've been going out with for two months and eight days, and within one month or so into the relationship, he said that he loves me. Do you think that it's kind of early to say that you love someone, when you've only gone out for two months and eight days?

Helyne

---

Dear Helyne,

I do think so, but if he feels very protective and affectionate towards you, then he may be defining that as love. You, too, may love many different people in different ways before you find a final lifetime partner. He's expressing his caring by saying this, but don't feel pressure to return the sentiment. You can tell him that you care for him until you are more comfortable with your own feelings.

Good luck,

There are different types of love. Like, with me and my boyfriend, we've been really close for a really long time, and before we started going out, we said we loved each other like family, like best friends. We would never want to lose each other, and that if we did, it would be devastating. Now that we're dating though, we mean it in a different way. We've been saying I love you to each other nearly every day for about six months, it just meant different things at different times.

Saying "I love you." is one thing but really meaning "I love you." is a whole different story. I think people say i love you too early when they are confused about the true definition. Now, everyone may define love differently but I think you will know the right time to say it if & when it comes along. There is no rush.

sayjaygirl. If you and your boyfriend haven't said I love you yet, then maybe it's because you aren't sure about your feelins. If you want to test the waters to see if it would be ok to say I love you, then hint about how strongly you feel about him. If he responds by openly telling you how strongly he feels, or does something sweet, it should be fine. If he pulls away, or becomes distant, that means he isn't ready for the I love you stage. Keep in mind that you don't want to say it if you don't mean it. You could always change your mind about him.

Girls... Its better to wait on dating at an early age. There is a boy I really like right now, and he likes me too. You know what he told me? He said that if I dated boys before him, he would never be with me... This shows that boys dont like "used" girls. Good Luck!

Love is special and should only be said if you truly mean it and it comes from the heart

My BF and I have been dating for 5 months and we still haven't said, "I love you." to each other. My friends think that that is weird. I personally don't. We are both really shy, too. Is it weird????
