Having a poor body image is somewhat normal during your adolescent years. As your appearance changes, media images of other women may leave you with questions about how you should really look. The simple answer is, there is no one answer. Just remember that healthy bodies come in various shapes and sizes.

 

A Healthy Teenager's Body Image Tips

Don't judge your body parts individually

Try experiencing your body as a whole. Be aware of how much time you spend worrying about your looksobsessing how much happier you'd be if you were taller, shorter, thinner, or if you had curlier hair, longer legs, a smaller noseinstead of doing things that you really enjoy.

 

Don't diet

Instead, learn about eating and exercise habits that will help you achieve a healthy body that's comfortable for you and will serve you throughout your life.

 

Don't try to conform to the beauty ideals promoted by airbrushed, Photoshopped, flawless celebrities

Unless you have a professional stylist and makeup artist living in your home, you may never look exactly like the people you see on TV or in magazines. Be a trendsetter and find your own style. Give up glossy fashion magazines, TV, or surfing the Internet for a week. See if you feel differently about yourself.

I don't care about what garbage the magazines say about what I'm supposed to look like. Being THAT skinny is not healthy. It's not even bony. It's just BONE. If you can clearly see the outline of you ribcage there is a problem. I LOVE MY BODY!

I love some things about myself bt really........, uh Id think I woold really brag that I'm the prettiest girl in the world,because MAN! Will I get some looks! Ugh I really just wish I coold jus forget war ppl say bt I hag such a tight grudge and grasp at way ppl say bt you know wat.......my mommy says tht I music be the center of their world if they coold pick out my evry flaw! I meen I used to like myself after my boyfriend broke my heart and dumped me I was very melencoly..... So that meens he caused me nt......I'm nt gonna blame him!

When i became a teenager, which wasnt long ago, i wished i looked better. I started to feel like i wasnt good enough. I started wishing i wasnt mixed or my hair wasnt curly and it changed me. Then i realized that it doesnt matter what you look like on the outside, it matters what's on the inside. I kept that in mind when i saw that someone had skinnier thighs than me! It was devastating and miserable but i learned to live with what i have. It's not perfect but it's me! Ladies, it's not whats on the outside that counts, you see the models and the superstars; they may look pretty on the outside but you may be prettier in the inside....! All of us girls are beautiful in our own way.

be yourself is easier said than done. i mean at this stage we want to look, talk and act like one another because we're not quite sure who we are yet. but in time we won't care if someone elses body looks "great". overall be happy with who you are.

HEY! forget if others brag about their body and how perfect it is. Just be who you are, and trust me some people might be jealous of your body.

if you don't learn to love what you are, you will never be 100% happy!!!!!!!!! if you have a low self-esteem, then do things to make yourself feel prettier, and happier, like get a mani and pedi, or go shopping, wear make-up, or treat your self in some way. :)
