Tampon Stuck?

Dear BeingGirl Experts,

It takes me a long time to get a tampon out. Sometimes I panic in the restroom at school because I am afraid that my tampon is stuck. Is this possible? Last time I used one I felt this might happen, and so I haven't used one since.

Dear Erin,

Relax! When you panic this can cause your muscles to become tense and make removing the tampon more difficult. Understand it's not possible for a tampon to get stuck. If you're having difficulty removing the tampon, make sure you use the lowest absorbency tampon for your flow, leave the tampon in from 4–8 hours and make sure you pull the tampon out in the same angle that you used to insert it. Also, if you tug on the string and the tampon doesn't start to pull out, you may need to leave it in a little longer but not longer than 8 hours.

Good luck!
