puppies101- its okay, as it says in one of the previous videos it shows you where to put one in, and millions of other girls on their periods wear them, and they have no problems so its safe! no need to be nervous, and good luck!

RinSoubiMichaelis- it's okay; everyone is nervous when they start using tampons. But once you start and use them regularly, you will become much more comfortable with them. And no, if you have to go to the bathroom, you don't need to take it out. You can, but people just hold the string out of the way. Either way is fine.

So, I'm 16 and I've never used a tampon. I'm scared, to be honest. I've been on my period since I was 10, a month from 11. My flow is getting so much worse, and my sister keeps suggesting that I use one, but like I said, I'm nervous. I'm flowing pretty bad right now, and it just sucks. Can I ask, if you have to use the bathroom, do you need to take the tampon out? Thanks.

Should you wear a tampon when you have your first period?

wubumonkey- When you take a tampon out, the blood is absorbed into the tampon, so you don't need to put it anywhere. Just wrap up the used tampon in toilet paper or the wrapper of your next one and put it in the trash can (unless it's flushable- check the box).
