Dear BeingGirl Experts,

My best friend got her period, and we talk about it all the time on the phone. She always informs me when it starts, where, and how heavy the flow is. Lately, it has made me uncomfortable. It makes me feel yucky. I'm not sure if I should tell her and if so how.

Why don’t you plan some private time to talk with your friend about this? Simply explain you aren’t as comfortable sharing the level of personal information she is able to share. Let her know you get uncomfortable hearing it. Tell her what you are/are not willing to discuss. While you do this let her know you think her being able to share is a positive thing but you just aren’t able to. Chances are she will understand. If she appears to get upset ask her to think about it from your comfort standpoint. She probably has never even considered this bothers you.
