How To Take Time For Yourself

  • ViewsIcon 2982

Dear BeingGirl Experts,

My friends are always counting on me to do stuff for them and always be there. I try to, but sometimes I need to be with only some of my friends. But if I do that then the others get so mad at me. It is very stressful and hard on me. Sometimes I come home from school and just cry from all of the stress that they are giving me, and the choosing that they make me do. HELP!!!

Briahnna

Dear Briahnna,

Your friends will get by when you aren’t always there. Giving constantly means you aren’t taking care of yourself. We all need time for ourselves. If you don't take care of yourself, no one will respect the time you give. Stop trying to do it all and make your own choices.

Saying “no” is okay. Actually, this is a healthy word to use. It may be hard to learn to say “no”, but once you put your needs ahead of others in order to take care of yourself, you will understand when you do give your time and energy to others, they are more appreciative.

Good luck,

Your BeingGirl Experts
