The Summer Fun List

Happy summer! You get to stay up late, sleep in late and you don’t have to do homework. But sometimes you get bored. So here’s our list of 15 super-simple things you can do to banish boredom!

1. Make a Bouquet

Pick some flowers and arrange them in a jar of water.

2. Still Your Mind

Take 10 minutes to look around (or within) and find something to appreciate.

3. Make a Watercolor Postcard

Cut a piece of thick stock paper to postcard size and paint it with watercolors. Write a sweet note on the back and mail it to a friend.

4. Plant Some Seeds

Pick up inexpensive packets, or use seeds from fresh produce by letting them dry out on a paper towel before planting.

5. Hug Someone

Someone you wouldn’t normally hug, like your sweaty brother.

6. Take a Cool Bath

Beat the heat with a tub full of bubbles.

7. Read

Choose something a teacher didn’t assign. Flip through a magazine, comic book or paperback.

8. Dance

Perfect your moves for the next school dance.

9. Drink Water

Lots if it, because it’s hot. Flavor it with a squirt of lemon or lime juice or even some cucumber!

10. Swing

Head to the nearest playground or — even better — tire swing!

11. Bird Watch

Tune in to the language of birds.

12. Paint Your Nails

Paint your fingernails and toenails in a rainbow of colors.

13. Cloud Watch

Let the puffy formations inspire your imagination.

14. Sing Out Loud

Even if you’re certain you’d never make the first cut of a singing contest.

15. Smile

And laugh out loud, just because.

Is it important to you whether your gynecologist is a man or a woman?
No, not at all, as long as the doctor is kind and gentle.
Yes, definitely. I’d be less embarrassed with a woman.
Yes, I think a woman would be more understanding.
No, as long as the doctor is recommended by people I know.
