Dear Jana,

There can be an odor. The odor is caused by the menstrual discharge mixing with air when it leaves your body. Taking a bath or shower daily during your period is important to keeping the odor away. Also, it is important to change you pad every 4–6 hours. Lots of girls find the Always Wipes come in handy when changing their pad because it will get rid of any menstrual fluid on your body.

Have you considered using tampons for menstrual protection? Because the tampon collects menstrual fluid BEFORE it leaves your body there is very little odor.
