Second Period: When Will It Come?
Dear BeingGirl Experts, I have a question about my period. I started for the first time on January 4, and it lasted a little less than a week. But I haven't had it again, and it's April 12. Is there something wrong? I really need to know because you are supposed to get it every month, right? Why haven't I started again yet? India --- Dear India, When you first start your period it isn't uncommon to have your first period and then not have one for several months or you may have another one in just a few weeks. Some girls will go as long as a year before their period arrives again. You may start out with a regular cycle and then become irregular. Having an unpredictable cycle is not uncommon during your teen years. It may take several years for your cycle to become regular. We recommend you keep a menstrual calendar and record each period, including the flow. Take the calendar in with you when you have your next doctor's appointment and explain your irregular flow to him/her if this is still a concern. Hope this helps, Your BeingGirl Experts
