Can I Carry School Pads To The Bathroom?

Dear BeingGirl Experts,

I just got my period a month ago (in the summer). I have a pad machine in my school, but it is not always full. I go to a private school so I cannot have a purse. I don't have a pocket in my uniform either. So how should I carry pads with me and not show the world?

Amy

Dear Amy,

When you first start your period it isn't uncommon to have your first period and then not have one for several months, or you may have another one in just a few weeks. You may start out with a regular cycle and then become irregular. Having an unpredictable cycle is not uncommon during your teen years. It may take several years for your cycle to become regular.

Not knowing when your will have your next period means you do need to be prepared. You could put a few pads in your locker or book bag to have when it arrives. On the days when you are having your period you just need to get creative when you are looking for a place to put a pad. Your sock, bra, sweater pocket, glasses case, or even a rolled-up sleeve will work while you are at school.

Changing during class breaks or lunch makes the most sense. Since you aren't sure when your period is due, wear a pantiliner daily to avoid any accidents.

Hope this is helpful,

I suggest you do a pad check the night before or in the morning. A pad check is seeing wear you could put your pads on your body or in ur clothes

I bring at least 3 pads and I go to my locker before I go to the bathroom or bring a crossbody bag

I know you aren't aloud to take pocketbooks but my friends do. They just take them everywhere and straight to the bathroom. I just put them in my bra or pockets.

Even if you do have a pocket to keep ur pad in it could look weird and bulky

@bvnmd171, I am already in middle school, and I also have all the symptoms. I brought a pair of underwear, some pads, and some liners in a small bag for my locker. when no one was looking, I threw it in my locker behind all of my binders. good luck! :)
