Dear Iris,

I heard that it's bad to use a scented tampon. Is this true???

Dear Kara,

Although there's much less menstrual odor when you use a tampon, there are women who prefer a scented tampon. The tampon collects the menstrual fluid in the vagina, and it is not exposed to air; therefore, little or no odor results. But, it is really a matter of personal choice.

Good luck,

I learned the hard way that I was sensitive to scented pads. The first time I used one, I got all red, itchy, and swollen down there... won't do that again!

Besides who needs a scented tampon if when you take out the tampon, its not as if you take it out and then smell it. So, when I get my period Im just gonna stick to pads and normal tampons

My sister uses scented tampons but I don't. I hear they cause irritation to the skin.
