Dear BeingGirl Experts,

I'm going through puberty like most girls I know. The only thing is that I have been gaining so much weight during this period of time. It seems that I am always hungry, and I don't always make the right choice on what I should eat. I want to lose all the extra weight I put on because I know adolescence is a time to start good eating habits and to be healthy.

Dear Lisa,

You can start to get good information on healthy eating by going to the library, getting a book on nutrition, or researching health eating on the Internet. Getting mom involved in your goal of controlling your weight and eating healthy will be important as well.

 

Keeping cleaned and cut-up raw veggies in your refrigerator makes it easy to not snack on junk food but to reach for a healthier choice. Fresh fruit is another great snack so you don t eat refined sugary snacks.

 

Starting your day with a healthy breakfast helps you body work well from the start of the day. Eating then gets your metabolism moving and burning calories. Exercise regularly and keep adding to your routine. With a positive attitude, you can do this and build good habits you will benefit from for the rest of your life.

im 15 and i am 5'6ish and way 167.2 i really want to lose weight and its not easy with my mom pointing out my weight all the time lol but wish me luck...i am trying to lose weight before i go back to school

im only 13 and i weigh 85 i feel like im waaay to skinny but im not trying on purpose im trying to gain more weight

I have the same problem I'm 13 and I weight 133 pounds and I'm 5 5" I gonna start ridding my bike for a mile and a half every day after dinner so I can fit into my clothes

Ok listen you all think your fat WRONG! I think if you way under 150 you are doing ok but need some work. If you are over 150 but under 200 work just a bit harder. If you are over 200 get yo butt off da couch and go find a treadmill. I way a lot but the only 2 things I hate is 1. my swimsuit options are horrible 2. I can't run very fast without getting tired. Otherwise its not too too bad. (Yet)(if you don't get your butt of da couch and go find a treadmill!)

i have the same problem im not really fat but my stomach is really chubby and i cant wear bikinis in the summer because of belly!!

omg, so am i! i am only 13, 5 ft. &1 1/2 in.---136 pounds! i weigh more than my mom did when her and my dad got married! she was 115-118! im so over weight, but i've lost 1 lb, a dy the last two days. my mom takes me to the local park. there is a track around it. we walk 5 miles a day there.

i don't eat that much ya know and like around my stomach it to me pudgy it drives my crazy idk what to do i am not over weight but my stomach is chubby and my mom is like that's what happens through puberty and i have never heard of anyone having this problem

@musiclover same wid im pretty skinny but my stomach is pudgy and chubby and ppl call me pillsbury dough girl and fat in my bikini im not physically fat im pretty skinny just my tummy is big my mom says puberty thing ok glad to see someone wid a prob like me
