Dear BeingGirl Experts,

How long can sperm stay alive after ejaculation? Is it possible for a girl to get pregnant by touching semen, then her vagina?

Thanks,

Curious

Dear Curious,

The sperm can live for a number of hours. And yes, if the sperm is introduced into the vagina (whether through intercourse or manual insertion), a woman may become pregnant.

I have wondered if you can get pregnant that way to, and since sperm does stay alive I guess it is possible if you had it on your hand or it was on his hand and it got inside your vagina that something could happen. About ejaculation, just look under My Body & Wellness in the Male Puberty Reproductive Organs part and they tell all about it. Its basically what happens when a guy orgasms and how the sperm gets released from their body. I guess depending on how you look at it, its either kind of gross or amazing. Their ejaculations is what gets us pregnant but condoms can help prevent that so I think knowing about how a guy ejaculates is kind of important.
