Dear BeingGirl Experts,

One of my friends asked the teacher if she could go to the bathroom, and the teacher said no, and then she told him it was a girl thing, but the teacher still didn't let her go to the bathroom!! Why? What can we do to get them to let us go to the bathroom??

P.S: The teacher was a male if that helps.

P.S.S: We also have this school rule that we can't go out of the class room during class but still!!!!

Thanks, bye

Claire

---

Dear Claire,

If the school rule says that you can't leave the room, then you have to make a stop at the bathroom during the times that you can, whether you think you need to at that time or not. In most situations in life, you have to plan to live by the rules. If you think that this rule needs exceptions, then you would have to talk with the principal to find out if the rule can be changed to give the teachers more leeway in allowing an exit from the classroom.

Hope this is helpful,

Your BeingGirl Experts

I have my period and at my schools there are no purses. Some tricks i use is putting a pad in my pants near my hip not all the way down then pull ur shirt out. U can put a tampon in ur sleeve then scrunch it up. You can put a tampon or pad in your sock or bra. To throw them away roll it or put it in the new rapper. Place it in ur pants like u did on ur way in. While u go near the trash act like ur scratchin ur hip then really slick throw it away. Hoped this helped.

The third month after I got my period (still unexperienced) I was at school and feeling a little wet down there. I didn't worry though because I had a tampon in. Seventh period came and I went to the bathroom and there was a HUGE red stain on my khaki pants. I didn't know what to do. I almost cried it was so embarrassing. Luckily my mom is a teacher. I asked if I could go up to her room. But she was out on lunch break!!!! So I went to the nurse and I got a pair of pants that fit me and a pad. I still felt like crying though. Everyone asked me where I went seventh period...guessing no one saw. I have many many good friends though so I'm sure no one would have judged me too bad

this article got me thinking of pieriods at school. i think i might as well bring a pad in my backpack when school starts, just in case. hope my pants won't be stained by the time i notice them. believe me, i've had some Nose-Bleed-in-Class experiences before and it was NOT good.

Our teachers understand. We say we have to go to our locker, then the bathroom. They usually get it, and if they don't, I usually just ask my bud who keeps a pad in her binder:)

My school is REALLY nice. If we have to go, we ask them up front NOT raise our hand. And they would let us go. Last year my homeroom male teacher, let me (and everyone else) go when I (we) needed to. But all teachers don't let you go during a test unless you REALLY have to go. My math teacher would mainly ask if it was an emergancy, if we said yes we were free. You never wanted to be out longer than 5 minutes, or she would sometimes go to the room. Then my science teacher did something no other teacher did/does (yet). She gave us "Punch Cards".If we needed to go during class PUNCH. Forgot homework or didn't do it punch! Ten punched per quater. If we got 10, we got detention. But last year was a good year.

Our teacher lets us go, but we have to sign out and we only get 23 sign outs per quarter in all of the classes. A girl in study hall didn't have her agenda, so she asked the teacher if she could go. When he said no, she said, "Well I guess I'm just going to bleed all over the floor then. I'm on my period!!!" He let her go :)
