Dear BeingGirl Experts,

How do I count the days until my next period?

Izzy

---

Dear Izzy,

Your cycle is calculated by measuring from the first day of your current period to the first day of your next period. The number of days is the length of your cycle. Keeping a menstrual calendar is helpful. Monitor your periods and jot down how you feel daily. After several cycles you may be able to identify bodily changes you can call "warnings or signals" for your approaching period. Look for a pattern of events or feelings like sore breasts, acne breakout, headaches, moodiness and/or backaches.

When your cycle is regular you can use the Period Calculator on BeingGirl.com to chart your period online. Here a link to the Period Calculator:

Hope this is helpful,

And on a totally unrelated note when wearing a sports bra for competive cheerleading and tumbling is it better wearing a padded bra under a sports bra or just wear the sports bra??

Keep in mind that not everyone has a regular period cycle. I am almost 20 years old, and mine is still not regular. Sometimes it is a big guessing game!

Today I got my period (not my first)at school and I was like 'oh my god, dear god this can't be happening' so I went up to my teacher and asked if I could go to the nurse. I am guessing that I had a weird look on my face b/c she said of course and that since i don't ask that much that of course I could and to fill out a form. I did fib that I just had a stomach ache so I woudn't have to tell her. I hate when people are in my personal business. Plus my best friend who sits right by her desk, who is a boy, would have heard and probably made fun of me.
