When I get my period, will there be a lot of blood? About how much (on average) should I expect?
When girls start having periods (menstruating) they usually get a damp feeling in the lining of their panties. Your period will probably not come flowing out heavily immediately from the start. Periods are a drip with your flow stopping and starting. It isn’t like a faucet!
Normal blood loss during an entire period is between 30–80 ml (about 2–8 tablespoons). The length of an average period is about four days (plus or minus 2–3 days). Often this surprises us because it can seem like more when this is what most females experience.
