Period Accidents

Dear BeingGirl Experts,

What is the best way to cover up if you have an accident that is caused by your period?

Casey

---

Dear Casey,

The best advice is to pay attention to your body so this won’t happen. Use pantiliners if you expect your period. Using the right absorbency pad or tampon for your flow and remembering to change your menstrual protection often enough will help prevent accidents.

It's a good idea to have extra pads or tampons and a pair of panties in your locker or backpack. If you are really paranoid about having an accident you can keep a pair of jeans in your locker too.

As a teen having unpredictable periods isn’t uncommon. If don’t have 100% certain predictability with your period it is important to know the clues your body sends. Some females get cramping, some see skin blemishes, while others may get sore or tender breasts. Most females know their period has arrived if they get a damp feeling in their underwear and is why we recommend wearing pantiliners when you expect your period.

Hope this is helpful,

To Emerald Ray2k, Tay Tyler and Cutie Girl1041! If you see quarters sticking out of the machines, they are either jammed, empty or broken. Just check the machines before placing any quarters in them. If the machine is a Stayfree/Playtex or Gard/Tampax, the coin slots are located under the product name. Just place the quarter(s) in the proper slot, turn the handle to the right until the quarter(s) enter the coin box and the product vends. If the machine is incessed into the wall or it's a machine that has many products in it, just check the instructions and place your quarters in the proper slot. Most machines are located on the wall right inside the door by the sinks or in a lounge area. Some machines are located inside the handicapped stall. Some machines are located alongside the outside of the first stall. Please use quarters only. Some machines will take pennies, nickels or dimes; however those coins will drop straight through to the coin box and you will not receive any product.

The All4Girls: You should be getting your period relatively soon. But, honestly, be excited if you want, but it really is not all that great. lol. Take it from someone who feels like they are dying every month.Periods are no fun!

Yeah, there's a pad/tampon machine in my elementary, too. It sort of looks broken but it might be able to work. If it doesn't, oh man, I'm dead.
