There's this guy at my school that I have been talking to for awhile. He likes me and I like him, but my parents hate him. They have their reasons and I understand them, but they don't see how good he is to me and how he makes me feel. How can I convince them to let me see him?

Dear Tanya,

If your parents don't like the guy you are seeing, listen to what they have to say. Give their point of view consideration. Even if you don't end up agreeing, this will show your parents you are mature enough to think it over and their opinion is important to you. Offer to have this guy spend more time around your family. Maybe once your parents get to know him better, they will see the qualities in him you do.
