Panty Liners For Discharge

Dear BeingGirl Experts,

Hey, I have this like discharge in my undies, and I play basketball (when I play sports I get more). I use panty liners, so I don't ruin my undies. However, it gets annoying when I am playing sports. Can I use a tampon for that? (I have already started my period.)

Dear Mimi,

Do not use tampons for discharge. Tampons are only for use when you are having your period. If you wear them when you are not menstruating, the tampon will absorb the normal moisture of your vagina. This puts you at a higher risk for Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS).

You will need to continue to use the pantiliner to absorb your daily vaginal discharge.

When I had not started my period yet I just showed my mom those booklets from school about what to expect before you start your period. Then I showed her the page about the discharge and told her I had it. Later she went to the store and came back with liners. Now I have started but I still wear them every day. Ask me anything.:)

Ive had discharge for a while(1 year) and yes ive used pantyliners and no they dont do anything except keeep my panties clean...they arent comfortable and dont stick on half the time. i guess i just need a different kind??

you could do what I did. I hadn't really started yet, but I told my mom I saw spots in my undies so she showed me where the pads were and told me some stuff and so I wasnt nervous for when it really came

Cupcakeluv101 there is nothing to be scared about I have had discharges for a year . Just wear a panty liner . If you are still scared have a period emergency bag with Pads,tampons,extra underwear and a baggie . I hope this helps!
