Learn to Love What You See in the Mirror

During your adolescent years, so many things are changing, especially your body. This is a great thing! It means that your body is maturing. However, it can be difficult to take in all the changes at once. Just remember that healthy bodies come in various shapes and sizes. You should embrace your body for what it is and love yourself no matter what.

A Healthy Teenager's Body Image Tips

Learn to Love Yourself

Embrace and love your body. It’s what makes you amazingly you. It is easy to unravel insecurities if you are picking out the little things about your body you don’t like. The thing is, all those small things make up who you are, and you should be proud of that! Take a look at the big picture and realize that you are one of a kind.

Work on Positive Affirmations

If you are ever feeling down, the best thing you can do is look in the mirror and say to yourself, “I am beautiful!” The more you say it, the more you will believe it. Giving yourself positive affirmations will help lift your spirits and will always help start your day off on the right foot.

Develop Healthy Eating Habits

Explore healthy eating habits that work for you. It’s all about feeling comfortable. If you fill yourself with good foods, you will be providing your body fuel and helping your body develop and grow — plus you’ll feel good too!

Take Daily Care of Your Body

It’s important to take care of the things you love. You protect your valuables, and that should include your body. It’s best to keep yourself clean by washing your face and body daily to purify your skin and keep body odor at bay. It is also good to brush your teeth every morning and night for a bright, confident smile. These are great ways to take care of your body.

Create Your Own Unique Look

Creating your own style is one of the best parts about having a body fitted just for you. It wouldn’t be any fun to look exactly like all your friends, so why not be a trendsetter? Pick a few pieces that are unique to your style and rock them with a smile — your true beauty will shine!

Don’t forget that you are beautiful in your own unique way. There is no one in the entire world who is exactly like you, so be proud of who you are! Hold on to the things you do love about yourself like your freckles or the color of your eyes and embrace it.

No one else can wear it better than you.

So I'm 17 years old, 5'5 and only weigh 100 lbs no matter how much I try to gain weight. I look terrible in jeans, tank tops, and bathing suits, so I don't even try to pull them off. People think I have an eating disorder, but seriously, shouldn't they shut up and stop judging, because you never know if that poor girl has a digestive problem out of her control (like me!) To make myself feel better about the fact I have no curves, I avoid looking at a full body mirror and convince myself I'm beautiful. It works most of the time at least ;)

I'm perfectly comfortable with my weight compared with my height and size, but I'm a lot taller than most of the people in my class, so I'm uncomfortable whenever we talk about weight. Also, my hips are getting really bony and I thought they were supposed to fill out? Also, my bmi says im underweight, so i'm happy.

So like ya'll seem like you don't much like yourselves. Stating your height and weight and complaining about it. Well, first of all, you're beautiful. Second, if you're curious about whether your weight is healthy there's a scale that says for post-pubescent girls of five feet tall they should weigh 100 pounds, every inch after that add five more pounds. This scale doesn't work for everyone, according to this I'm almost fifteen pounds overweight but I feel perfectly healthy and happy how I am, keep in mind that muscle and bone weigh more than fat, fat is actually very light. Also, it really does help to look in the mirror and think or say to yourself, "I'm awesome," "I'm beautiful," or as I do, "Guuurrll, I'm dayum sexy!" Last thing I've got to say, you're stuck with this body so love it. Enjoy your differences and "flaws."

I am 15 turning 16 on July 30th I am 214lbs, 5'4 and wear a size 38c in bra. I have no freaking idea why I weigh that much. I don't eat a lot. I am active. I don't look 214. So can anyone please help me!! Or give me some tips? I would really appreciate it. I think I am ugly and fat! -__- My whole family gets mad at me when I say those things. When my mom was younger and when I was like 4 she was working at a restaurant she had a friend and he came over to our house a few months ago and I told him I thought I was ugly and fat and he got mad at me and was like "Don't ever say those things around me, You are beautiful"

Why does everybody think they are fat and ugly!? You are all beautiful IN YOUR OWN WAY!! Stop obsessing over how you look and start focussing on who you are inside. It doesn't matter how you look, what DOES matter is your personality. People really shouldn't care how you look and have no business telling you that you are ugly and fat! (Sorry that was long but I wanted to voice my opinion)

What I don't get is how some people who are tall thing and pretty say they are so fat and ugly. They have no idea what it is like to be actually fat and ugly like me. My says point out the positive instead of the negative but I can't find any positive. MOST of the girls say I look pretty ect but the guys call fat ugly and worthless and they have almost convinced that i am....
