Irregular Periods

"Regular" periods means that the time between periods is pretty much the same from month to month. Women can have their periods every 21 to 35 days, and 28 days is the average. But when you first start menstruating, you may experience irregular periods. You could have one period and then wait six months for the next one! This isn't unusual. Until your body adjusts, the time between your periods may be unpredictable. But after that, it should regulate itself. If not, see your doctor.

Hi Coalie & UriFloss2! Every girl is different. Usually for the first two years (sometimes longer) your periods will be irregular. That means they may come at any given time. "Always expect the unexpected." For example, they may come three months in a row, then skip three months in a row. Or you might get your period every other month. Birth Control might help regulate your period. Check with your doctor. Check yourself each time you use the restroom.

ShortyShorts978, that's what your period is. Do you mean all of the blood in your body? Then no, it's not possible. :)

When I first started, I had them every month. I never knew when it was coming until I felt icky in my undies. I started at eleven, and it took me until I was fourteen or fifteen to learn the signs from my body (such as random, mild cramps a few days before in my lower tummy) that it was almost time, and to start wearing a pad until it showed up!
