Irregular Cycles

Dear BeingGirl Experts,

I am 21 years old. My cycle is very irregular—it can be anywhere from two months to six months between periods. I feel fine, I exercise, and am at a healthy weight for my size. Should I be worried?

Dear Kati,

When you have fewer than six periods per year you need to schedule a visit with your gynecologist/healthcare provider. You will be able to learn more about why this is happening to you and get it corrected.

Hope this helps,

I got periods when I was 13 and they were irregular (2-3 months imbetween my next one) than they got more regular (4-6 weeks inbetween) now I just got my period after 6 months of not having one. I think everyone's body is different - my family has a history of irregular periods.
