How To Clean Your Room

Dear BeingGirl Experts,

I have a very messy room—for a girl. Clothes are everywhere, and my mom always get mad at me for not cleaning it up. I can clean anything else—bathroom, the whole house—EXCEPT for my room! Can you give me some hints/tips/guidelines to help me straighten out my room??

P.S. My room has always been like this ever since I was 11. Day by day, it gets messier and messier. It's like I'm a guy or something!

Dear Jan,

You have to want to keep your room neat and clean for this to happen! It sounds like the messiness is bothering you. Cleaning your room or any room is manageable when you break it down into small steps. You might start by cleaning out and organizing one or two drawers a day. When your drawers are done tackle the closet over a certain amount of time. Finding a few containers to help you keep things neater may work. Give away what you no longer wear, and schedule to spend 10 minutes each day (or at least three days a week) straightening up once you have it organized and clean!

My room is messy too. I just blast on some music and then I clean one part of my room, then another section. It's easier and faster (suprisingly)

Yah I know my room is messy but I do really want to keep it clean. I sometimes can keep it clean for awile then it gets messy espcially when I am really tired and don't feel like cleaning up.

My room is extremely hard to keep clean, especially if you share it with a little sister. One moment, its clean and then toys and clothes are everywhere. When we have to clean it, we get lazy and clean only 3/4 XP

im moving into a new house in a few days and the room that i had right now was a disaster ! i already have a schedule like the article said , about what chores to do ! i hate being messy !

When I clean my room, I just put my iPhone on my speaker and just blast the music out. And I literally dance when I clean my room. :P
