If you think you might be pregnant, and are already late for your period, you can use an over-the-counter pregnancy test to find out if you are pregnant. If the result is positive (you are pregnant) you should see your doctor/health care professional right away and get the test confirmed. If the test results are negative (not pregnant), and you still haven't gotten your period, you should make an appointment with your gynecologist for treatment of an irregular cycle and to get a reliable form of birth control.
