Dear BeingGirl Experts,

Okay, I have pimples! How can I get rid of acne??

Wendy

---

Wendy,

Most important when trying to get rid of acne is to understand what works for a friend may not be the solution for you.

Acne is a result of hormonal changes during puberty and right before your period. During this time there is an increase your skin's output of oil. Acne is also minimally related to the foods that you eat. (New findings show that foods containing white flour, potatoes and sugar raise the blood's insulin levels and testosterone levels also rise, promoting acne. Foods such as fruits and veggies will help keep insulin low and skin clear.)

Treatment should include gently washing your face gently with antibacterial soap several times each day. Noxema and other deep cleansing creams can be helpful too. Don't rub hard. Rubbing to hard and squeezing or popping a pimple can spread bacterial and inflammation, making your acne worse.

Hopefully by following this simple regime you will get rid of the excess oils, and your acne will clear up. If it doesn't then it may be time to enlist the help of a dermatologist.

We hope this is helpful,

Your BeingGirl Experts

I use Proactiv and that got rid of my acne and blackheads. But when it's that time of month they come creeping back. I know how you feel... I used to struggle more with it. Also if u want to try something like Proactiv but less expensive try the Target or Walmart brand 3 step system. Most people at my school didn't think Proactiv worked. It works for me and I use it to this day(: But try the less expensive brand first if you are spending your own money... If someone in your family is willing to buy it for you go ahead! That's what my family did for me....<3 Hope this helps!

Try using AcneFree 24 Hour Acne Clearing System. It has worked wonders for me when nothing else worked! Start off using the less intense one. If it doesn't work use the severe. They also have a system for sensitive skin!
