I've tried three pads under tampons, pantiliners, and nothing can hold my heavy flow. What should I do?

Have you tried a high-absorbency pad, and are you changing it often enough so your flow is absorbed? Some girls have heavy flows for a couple of days and need a more absorbent pad during this time in their period. Pads come in super and overnight absorbencies as well as lower absorbencies. Tampons are available in super and super plus absorbencies for use with heavier flows. Many teen girls have hormone imbalances during puberty, so it's not uncommon to experience extremely heavy, prolonged periods during the teen years. If you are soaking through at least a pad an hour for several hours in a row or completely saturate a tampon in an hour, then you really need to let your doctor/healthcare provider know about this.
