Dear BeingGirl Experts,
This isn't a question, but a helpful hint to some of the girls who have just begun to menstruate. Forget what your friends say; tampons do not hurt AT ALL!!! Ask your mom to buy you some Tampax Pearl Lites and ask for help if you get stuck trying to use them. You should also read the directions over thoroughly before you try tampons. Chances are if you follow the directions it won't hurt, I've been wearing them for about two years now, and haven't had a problem.

Dear BeingGirl Experts,
This isn't really a question, but more like a comment. I was at my best guy friend's house, and I got my period. He doesn't have a mom, so I asked his older sister for a pad. She was really supportive about it. I just wanted to say to everyone that all women go through this, and don't be ashamed to ask someone for help! It was my first period also.

Dear BeingGirl Experts,
I was reading the part on relationships and a girl said that she got raped the night before. I have some girl advice for her if you could please tell her. If you get raped, then you need to tell your parents and then get a police report. NEVER go with this guy again and don't talk to him. Don't tell him that you are filing a police report, or he might flee the state or country and rape other women.

Dear BeingGirl Experts,
I have a tip for any girl that is afraid to use tampons. Don't be scared, it makes it worse. I found it best to lie down, if you can, or squat down. If you do not know which opening to put it in, use your finger to find it first, then try inserting a tampon. It really helped me. I tried tampons on the second day of my first period and loved them. I wear pads to bed though since I sleep more than eight hours. If you can't figure it out, keep reading about how on this website. I find that the best way to learn. If you don't get the tampon in the first time, keep trying! This website has great info! If you cannot find something, try going to the "site map" at the bottom. Tampons really do not hurt if inserted correctly.
