People are often a bit scared about anything that is going to be a new experience. We hear from lots of girls and can tell you many of them share that they are nervous, while some can’t wait to start and others are both excited and nervous. Menstruation will be part of your life for about 30 years, so you do need to adjust to having your period and not letting it keep you from participating in all your normal activities! Your mother can be a big help if you will let her know when you start and ask her questions you have. Also, you can get a lot of information at www.BeingGirl.com, and from friends who have already begun to menstruate.

When i told my mom i started, my whole body was shaking. I was so nervous. I was glad my mom didn't freak out or anything. She just got me one of her pads and then wrote pads on the shopping list. She didn't tell anyone i started thank goodness. :)I was fine about 20 minutes later. It was no big deal i guess
