Quick Tips to Fix Beauty Blunders There’s nothing worse than having a beauty blunder on an important day. Whether it’s the first day of school or a first date, a zit or a bad hair day may have you wanting to lock yourself in your bedroom. Instead of dreaming about the opportunities that could have been, take charge! Here are tips for making a bad beauty day all better.
Breakout Freak Out It’s the night before your big day and — of course — a big zit has appeared out of nowhere. First, wash your hands and face. Use warm compresses to bring the pimple to a head. Take an acne extractor or thin pin and disinfect/sterilize it with alcohol. Apply gentle pressure on the pimple until the pimple is drained. Gently dab astringent on the zit and don't pick at it!
Bad Hair, Go Away Don't worry, it happens to the best of us. If your hair is at its frizziest or just not doing anything you tell it to do, try a simple bun. Put your hair in a low ponytail, but keep some face-framing pieces out. Gently twist the ponytail into a bun, but let some pieces of hair fall out. Pin the bun securely. Now it’s out of your face, off your mind and, most importantly, looks great!
Wardrobe Malfunctions You’re trying to get out the door and something’s just not right. Here are some quick fixes to save the day. Do you have pet hair all over your clothes? If your cat's been lying around on your jacket, a lint brush will be key. In a jam with no lint brush? Wrap tape around your index and middle fingers, sticky side out. Dab your fingers on the clothing. Hair a little greasy? Sprinkle some baby powder on your head (just a little bit!), flip your head over and lightly run your fingers through your hair. The baby powder will soak up the grease and keep your locks a little fresher. Masking tape can fix an unruly pants hem if you don't have time to sew it up. Hair super staticky? Rub a dryer sheet through your ’do.
