How can I talk to my mom about starting to use tampons. I've used them before and like them. But how can I tell her and ask her to buy me some?

Dear Ina,

Make a list of all the reasons why tampons would enhance your life. Read the information in BeingGirl's My Body & Wellness section, so you know and understand the risks of TSS, and the proper use of tampons.

When you are ready, sit down with mom and explain you have tried tampons and want to wear them regularly when you have your period. Let her know why you want to use tampons. Even if she has real concerns about tampons, she should be proud that you went to so much trouble to learn all about something you want.
