Back to My Period Questions
Can you get PMS before your first period? I was wondering because I am getting upset for no reason lately.
Yes, Anna, you can experience PMS before you actually have your period, although many people don’t realize this. Of course, you can also just be reacting to life as a teen too! PMS is the collection of symptoms occurring anywhere from a week to 10 days before your period starts. The symptoms may be physical, like breast tenderness and bloating, or emotional, like depression and anxiety. All the symptoms together make it a syndrome. Talk to your mom or your doctor about any feelings you don't think are normal.
Hope this is helpful,
