Feminine Wash: Showering During Your Period

Dear BeingGirl Experts,

I am 13 years old, and I am in the 7th grade (ugh). I have had my period the second time. I am still scared every time I see blood on my undies. Also how when you take a shower, there is blood running between your legs? PLEASE HELP!!

Dear Karen,

I know it's not easy to have these new experiences. You will learn to handle seeing your period’s discharge as you get more comfortable with your body's processes. This is going to happen for about the next 30 years. This alone is reason enough to become more comfortable. Taking a shower or bath every day is important during this time, and you will learn to handle the mechanics of cleansing yourself when you have your period. Actually, it's a good time to feel better by taking a bath or using a special lotion or shampoo in the shower. You want to care for yourself with the feminine treats that make you know how special it is to be a girl who is becoming a woman. If you are concerned about blood leaving your body during a shower, relax. Use the toilet first, and I doubt you will have a problem in the shower. If you are really concerned, you can use a tampon when bathing or showering and relieve the worry.

When i take a shower the fluid automatic stop and when you get out make sure to use towel on the floor so it wouldn't drop down.

When i shower, so much blood comes out. And it seems like the more i relax, the more comes out. it's such a pain too when your getting out of the shower and your period is coming out and your trying to prevent it from getting on your towel or floor.

Okay, for those wondering about good feminine wash, summers eve has some great products, that can be used anywhere, LITERALLY! They even have sensitive feminine wash and body wash, so it won't bother the areas you use it on, even that area. Always also has epic feminine wipes. Except, this is what iv'e read in reviews. I haven't gotten mine yet, so I don't really need to use these products. Good luck!

I haven't gotten my period yet, but I have a question. How are you gonna get out of the shower? The blood will be all over the floor (I use a mat, so the blood will stain it)!

I'm sorry but I don't see the prob. If u r in the shower and blood comes out, u wipe it off ur legs!! There's water falling on u. When u get out that's a diff story lol. I can't even wipe under there when im drying myself off cuz the blood collects down there. I learned that the hard way! Lol

When I take a shower while I'm on my period, it's like the period stops in the shower. I do not understand how blood would run down your legs

i got my period friday june 1st and it ended yesterday and i was concerned on showering first because no one wants to see blood running down their legs! but i went to the bathroom first then when i go in it stops a little and it was really refreshing
