Hi BeingGirl Experts, At my school, it's "uncool" to eat at school and most girls don't eat, and it's really hard for me because I have diabetes, and I have to eat at school and everyone calls me "fat" because I eat at school. What should I do? Help!! Ellen --- Dear Ellen, The girls calling you names are the ones with problems. Eating is definitely a healthy thing to do and in your case properly spaced meals are very important. What these girls are doing is a form of bullying. Being bullied feels awful, regardless of whether it is done verbally or physically. A person who is bullying another person may be looking for a level of control or power that they don't have somewhere else. Or, they may be doing it for attention. Either way what they are doing is wrong. My suggestion is to approach them and explain your health needs. Ask them to stop bothering you. If this doesn't work, then talk to a trusted adult. Chances are no adults know this is going on with you and would help if they did. Your telling them is okay if you find you need their assistance. Good luck in dealing with this, Your BeingGirl Experts
