I really do NOT like the idea of my body changing. It just makes me want to throw up. Is there any way you can help feeling different about this???

Dear Elena,

Look around you at the girls you know who are a bit older. Look at your friends, cousins, mother, and know everyone has to grow up. The changes during puberty are not easy, but it is what we all go through to become women, honestly. Your mother is the best person to help you through this. Ask her how she felt when she was your age, and how she learned to become the person she is today. If you don't have a mother to help guide you, perhaps you have another trusted adult to talk with. She too can be your resident expert to reassure and help you.
